Meryl Streep celebrates her 73rd birthday today and fans are pondering the secret of her seemingly timeless beauty.
That Mamma Mia! Star is celebrating her special day today, June 22nd, and appears to be aging backwards, not that she’s obsessing over it.
While many stars focus on looking younger, Streep has always embraced her age and her natural, effortless beauty hasn’t gone unnoticed by her fans, who are eagerly celebrating National Meryl Day on social media.
Among the congratulations for the legendary actor is a whole collection of messages that puzzle what Streep can be like in her eighth decade.

A fan shared a picture of Meryl aged 27 and one of her side by side today and it seemed like that The devil loves Prada Alumni has hardly aged.
“Okay, that’s called aging [sic] beautiful,” wrote one user in response to the images.
Another urged others to consider how Streep is at her age.
“It’s Meryl Streep’s Mf-Day and this woman is 73 let that sink in,” the Twitter user wrote.
Fans previously commented that Streep was “aging [sic] like a good wine”, and they are certainly not wrong, but they are Big little lies The actress hasn’t always had such confidence in her appearance.
“When I was young, I didn’t have confidence in my beauty,” she once revealed. “I felt like a character actress, and I still do.”

However, she has learned to shake off worries about so-called flaws.
“My advice: Don’t waste so much time worrying about your skin or your weight. Develop what you do, what you do in the world,” she said.
“I think the most liberating thing I did early on was to rid myself of any concern about my appearance as it related to my work.”
Though hailed as one of the world’s top actresses with two Oscars, seven Golden Globes, two Emmys and many more, Streep used to worry she wasn’t pretty enough to make it in Hollywood.
Upon accepting an honorary doctorate from Indiana University in April 2014, the star opened up about her early insecurities.
“I thought I was too ugly to be an actress,” she told a college audience of 3,200, according to the Indianapolis Monthly.

She added that perceived differences don’t have to hold you back: “The people who look different are the ones who get[employed]. I used to hate my nose. Not any longer longer.
However, as she got older, Streep worried that her age might be holding her back, too.
“I remember when I was in my 40s I thought every movie was going to be my last, really,” she told WSJ magazine in 2016.
“And all the evidence from other 40-year-old women at the time — that’s 27 years ago — makes you think it was over.”

According to journalist Fi Glover, the Out of Africa star refrains from touching her face to keep her skin glowing.
Miss Glover once attended a party with the award-winning actor and revealed to the Lucky podcast that she had shared her beauty trick.
“Do you know what Meryl told me that evening?” she said, as reported by Daily Mail. “We talked about beauty tips, it was an exciting evening full of political discussions and engagement.
“She said her only beauty secret was to never touch her face. She never touches her face.”
