Considering a TV upgrade? Whether you’re looking for a bigger screen or sharper picture quality, we’ve rounded up some of the best big brand TV discounts this June.

If you’re not sure which type of set is right for you, remember that bigger doesn’t always mean better. You can get great bargains on 1080p (or Full HD) TVs, but while that resolution will be supported for years to come, 4K (or Ultra HD) displays are now becoming the norm. They’re also cheaper than you might think – you can find decent 4K TVs for well under £1,000.

OLED and QLED TVs are cutting edge, but they’re expensive. LCD (also confusingly called LED) is the entry-level panel technology, but don’t let that mean low quality fool you. The best LCD TVs look way better than the cheapest OLED TVs.

Also consider the image processing features: these reduce motion blur and dynamically adjust contrast to achieve the best possible image. Fast refresh rates can greatly improve the look of soccer games and other fast-paced sports. Upscaling – how a 4K TV interprets and displays content in standard definition – is also important. Poor upscaling can make older programs look fuzzy and fuzzy.

All TVs in our list are 4K. You can buy 8K TVs, which look noticeably sharper on very large devices, but the technology is still in its infancy and is still exorbitantly expensive. There aren’t currently any transmissions in 8K either, so you don’t gain any additional fidelity when watching Coronation Street. Most screens also offer high dynamic range (HDR), which allows a TV to display detail in dark shadows and bright highlights at the same time.
